Women Aware Brings Speaker to Danville High School

Women Aware, under the umbrella of HALO Project’s Education Committee, a
healthy community initiative sponsored by Provena United Samaritans Medical
Center Foundation, will host guest speaker Mrs. Vicki Crompton-Tetter at
Danville High School on October 4th & 5th, 2007.


Mrs. Vicki Crompton-Tetter serves as a spokesperson for dating violence
prevention. Her daughter was murdered by a boyfriend. Her mission is to educate
parents, teachers, and teens on the signs and symptoms of dating violence. She
has appeared on many television talk shows including the Oprah Winfrey Show and
Sixty Minutes. Her articles on dating violence have been published in Redbook,
Teen Magazine, and Sugar Magazine. She has done public speaking for 14 years on
topics that include teen dating violence, victimization, grief, loss, and
forgiveness. She is the author of the book, “Saving Beauty from the Beast.” She
holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from the University of Iowa, Iowa
City, IA.
